FAQs
It is totally normal to have lots of questions when choosing a tutor. I would suggest the easiest way to get the answer to those questions is to get in touch and set up a free 20 minute consultation. But while you set up that initial meeting - here are some of the most common questions I get...

01
Does online tutoring work?
Absolutely. Online tutoring offers the same personalised support as face-to-face lessons, with the added convenience of learning from home. Using interactive whiteboards, screen sharing and digital resources, lessons are engaging, effective and tailored to each student's needs.
02
How do I sign up?
Simple - just get in touch through the website and we can organise a quick 20 minute introduction. From there, we can decide on how often, for how long and when the session should take place.
03
How do I access the online classroom?
I use an online classroom software called Bramble to host my lessons. Once we have arranged a session, you will be sent all the details to access the classroom.
04
How do I pay for sessions?
You will be sent a payment link for your session 3 days prior. Payment for the session must be recieved 24 hour prior to the session taking place.
05
Do I get a refund if I miss a session?
If a session is cancelled with more than 24 hours notice, a full refund will be issued.
If a session is cancelled with between 24 and 12 hours notice, a 50% refund will be issued.
If a session is cancelled with less than 12 hours notice, no refund will be issued.
I will always do my best to rearrange sessions for students when possible, but ultimately if nothing can be done, the refund policy stands.
06
Are online sessions recorded?
Yes. This has two main benefits: One - students can watch them back to study. Two - it ensures a safe environment for study, allowing sessions to be watched back at anytime.
07
What do I need for a session?
Very little. All students require for our sessions is a device (ideally a tablet, laptop or desktop), pen and paper. We may occasionally require additional equipment such as calculator, ruler, compass etc as topics demand.
08
Do you have a DBS certificate?
Yes. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and am registered with the update service.
09
Can you support children who are home schooled?
Of course. I am a full time tutor - so offer slots during school hours. Depending on your needs I can support with delivering the entire maths cirriculum, support with some key topcs or offer traditional tutor support - helping with topics where the student struggles.
